You and I know the climate crisis is the most urgent environmental issue facing us today. Nearly every day we are witnesses to our changing climate.

But we refuse to be paralyzed with fear—we must seize upon each and every opportunity to reduce climate pollution. And through your partnership with EDF, that is exactly what we are doing.

Will you make a donation to support our 2014 Annual Fund Campaign to help keep up the fight for climate action?

This is our most important fundraising campaign of the spring and we must raise $100,000 online by March 10 to stay on track to meet our critical $750,000 goal by Earth Day, April 22.

Can we count on you to stand with us? Please make your Annual Fund donation today.

EDF was founded in 1967 by four passionate environmentalists who were inspired by Rachel Carson’s Silent Spring, which foresaw a gloomy future where there would be no birds heard chirping their happy spring songs.

Our founders rose to that challenge and the national ban on DDT they helped win has helped iconic bird species like the American bald eagle, ospreys, peregrine falcons, and brown pelicans rebound back from the brink of extinction.

Climate change poses an even greater threat to wildlife and our natural world—and according to the latest International Panel on Climate Change report, human activity is the primary cause. But we are also the solution.

The good news is that we can act now for a safer climate future. Your donation to our Annual Fund Campaign will help us accomplish our 2014 climate goals, including:
  • Cutting global carbon emissions though our work in China, Vietnam and India;
  • Promoting clean, sustainable energy use in the U.S. that will make energy more reliable and more affordable;
  • Reducing deforestation in the Amazon rainforests by making these precious forests more valuable standing rather than clear-cutting;
  • Supporting EPA proposal to place national limits on pollution from coal-fired power plants.
And by giving early online, your donation will go even further. Most of our donors still prefer to give by mail, but we want you to help us be greener. If you make your Annual Fund contribution online by March 10, we’ll keep you out of the postal mail requests we send to prior donors in April—saving us paper and mailing costs.

P.S. This is one of our most important fundraising campaigns of the year. We must raise $100,000 online by March 10 if we hope to reach our goal of $750,000 by Earth Day, April 22. Will you help us meet our goal by making an online donation today?
