CORRECTED: Make a pledge to give back on #GivingTuesday

EDF Activist—

The email I sent you earlier this morning contained suggested tweets you could use to take our #GivingTuesday pledge. Unfortunately, the Twitter account mentioned was not the correct account for EDF.

You can find EDF on Twitter @EnvDefenseFund. Here are the corrected suggested tweets for you to use:

Click to Tweet: This year on #GivingTuesday, I’m giving back to the Earth with a gift to @EnvDefenseFund

Click to Tweet: I'm giving polar bears and other wildlife threatened by climate change a chance to survive by donating to @EnvDefenseFund on #GivingTuesday

Click to Tweet: I'm giving my family clean air, clean water, and safer chemicals by donating to @EnvDefenseFund on #GivingTuesday

I apologize for this morning's error, and thank all of you who tweeted and who brought the mistake to my attention.

TAKE THE PLEDGE
EDF Activist—

Each year, after a day of giving thanks with our loved ones, we’re immediately plunged into a weekend of frenzied competition to get the best deals on Black Friday and Cyber Monday. Now, we have a new day to help make the world a better place and give something back.

It’s called #GivingTuesday. Last year, thousands of donors gave more than $10 million to charity on the Tuesday after the Thanksgiving weekend.

This year, EDF is participating and offering a special, one-day matching gift opportunity. Make a donation to EDF on #GivingTuesday and it will be matched, $1-for-$1, by a current EDF member!

Although #GivingTuesday is 7 days away, it’s not too early to join the movement by pledging to make a gift next Tuesday.

If you’re on Twitter, here are some suggested tweets you can share with your Twitter followers to inspire others to give with you:
Click to Tweet: This year on #GivingTuesday, I’m giving back to the Earth with a gift to @EnvDefenseFund

Even if you’re not on Twitter, everyone can participate in #GivingTuesday. Just mark your calendar for one week from today, December 3...and celebrate a new tradition with a gift to EDF.

New Mexico, Your Senator is a Chemical Safety Champion

Thank Sen. Tom Udall for his tireless efforts to protect our families from toxic chemicals. Eco Activist—

Thank Sen. Udall for his dedication to chemical safety.

America's toxic chemicals policy is badly broken. Our current chemical safety law—the Toxic Substances Control Act of 1976—hasn't been updated since it first passed over 37 years ago. And it is so ineffective that it leaves known carcinogens and other dangers to human health in our homes.

Thankfully, some in Congress are working on changing that—and Tom Udall has been a chemical safety champion.

Take Action: Thank Sen. Udall for his leadership in the fight to protect our families from toxic chemicals.

Sen. Udall has voiced strong support for chemical safety reform in the Senate. But he hasn't stopped there. He has reached across the aisle—and even across Houses of Congress—to fix major problems in proposed legislation and encourage bipartisan cooperation.

He has committed himself to seizing this historic opportunity, and ensuring that New Mexicans—and all Americans—don't need a PhD to buy safe products.

Let Sen. Udall know his efforts aren't going unnoticed. Thank him for his dedication to chemical safety!
