Don't let them put our national treasures at risk. Climate Activist— Some members of the House of Representatives are attempting to block federal regulation of hydraulic fracturing on federal lands.
They're calling their proposed regulation the "Protecting States' Rights to Promote American Energy Security Act" (HR 2728), but its real impact could be devastating for environmental and public health.
Take Action: Tell your members of Congress to reject this dangerous bill.
Our federal wildlands, habitats, and waters deserve protection. HR 2728 puts them at grave risk from substandard oil and gas operations. We cannot afford to rashly discard long-standing oversight of these public lands by federal land management professionals.
Doing so has the potential to leave these environmental treasures exposed to degradation and contamination problems that could have dire consequences for our own communities.
