EDF member—

At this very moment, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell is building Congressional support for a "Resolution of Disapproval" that would cripple EPA’s authority to regulate carbon pollution from power plants—and would effectively halt all national efforts to address climate change.

Donate now to our Climate Action Fund so we can fight back and vigorously defend the EPA in support of the strongest possible climate standards.

So far, 643 members have answered the call by donating a combined $32,000—and counting. But we are still far from reaching our goal of raising $100,000 in the next 2 weeks to fight Sen. McConnell’s Resolution of Disapproval against EPA.

Will you join with your fellow members and make a contribution to the Climate Action fund to help us reach our goal?

Donations to our Climate Action Fund are not tax-deductible, but are used exclusively to fund our legislative and advocacy efforts, including:
• Sending scientific and economic experts to Capitol Hill to persuade legislators to support good legislation and oppose bad bills like Sen. McConnell’s resolution.
• Empowering our Environmental Defense Action Network of nearly 1,000,000 online activists to write their elected officials about the importance of protecting our environment.

We believe that the most effective way to make a difference is to work with people, not against them. But we cannot ignore the threat posed by Members of Congress who are openly hostile to climate action.

Please make a donation to our Climate Action Fund today so that we can remain strong in the face of these attacks and others that are sure to follow.

P.S. On Wednesday night, more than 70,000 EDF members participated in our teletown hall with EPA Administrator Gina McCarthy and EDF President Fred Krupp. EDF members did not disappoint, asking thoughtful and important questions. Both Gina and Fred underscored the critical importance of EPA action to reduce climate pollution in our country. Please keep EPA strong with a donation today.

ALL ACTIONS: Support the Call for Climate Action

Take all our actions with just one click! Eco Activist—

Take every action alert we have with just one click.

27,708 EDF activists called on President Obama to remind the public of the importance of climate action in this week's State of the Union address—and he listened.

"Climate change is a fact. And when our children's children look us in the eye and ask if we did all we could to leave them a safer, more stable world, with new sources of energy, I want us to be able to say yes, we did." —President Barack Obama, January 28th, 2014

Last night, EPA Administrator Gina McCarthy joined EDF members and activists on the phone—and reaffirmed the EPA's commitment to climate action.

"I have great hope right now for the future and the things we can do over the next few years... The President himself clearly knows that EDF and other groups are important to do the things that he wants to do and we all want to do together." —EPA Administrator Gina McCarthy, January 29th, 2014

Make sure Congress follows their example. Take EVERY action alert EDF has—on climate and many other issues—with just one click.

I know your activism works. I've witnessed it first-hand. And I'm asking you to lend us the power of your voice one more time.

We are at a make-or-break moment for climate action—and already dealing with global warming's devastating effects. Since 1980, America has dealt with 151 extreme weather events whose total cost in damages exceeds $1 trillion. In 2013 alone, there were 7 extreme weather events that cost over $1 billion each—and cost the lives of 109 people.

Hope lies in the U.S. Climate Action Plan, and the EPA has already taken the first steps by proposing groundbreaking new rules that would—for the first time EVER—nationally limit carbon pollution from America's future power plants. But the dirty air lobby is launching a constant barrage of legislative attacks.

Make sure your elected officials know you stand with the environment—and expect them to do the same. Take every action alert EDF has with just one click!

Fight Back Attacks on EPA Now!

EDF member—

Moments ago, President Obama delivered a powerful vision for climate activism in his State of the Union address. With Congress bogged down in partisan gridlock, administration actions, mainly through the Environmental Protection Agency, are our best hope this year to push forward meaningful limits on America's climate pollution.

But climate deniers and the friends of the fossil fuel industry on Capitol Hill have already mobilized to stop EPA climate action in its tracks.

Will you donate now to our Climate Action Fund to help give us the resources we need to fight back and vigorously defend the EPA in support of the strongest possible climate standards?

We need to raise $100,000 over the next two weeks to organize against Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell’s efforts to pass his "Resolution of Disapproval" under the Congressional Review Act. This bill, if it were to pass, would cripple EPA's efforts to limit climate pollution from America's power plants—the biggest source of carbon emissions in the U.S.

We can't let this—or any other political assault from climate deniers—pass. We have to stand strong and we have to stand together.

Will you step up now to support our Climate Action Fund with a donation today?

We have already mobilized more than 100,000 activists in support of EPA's new standards for new fossil fuel power plants. But, the big fight will be over tough new standards for existing power plants, which we expect this June.

We need to go all-in on this fight—and we need you with us.

Please donate now to our Climate Action Fund.

P.S. President Obama said tonight, "And when our children's children look us in the eye and ask if we did all we could to leave them a safer, more stable world, with new sources of energy, I want us to be able to say yes, we did." Let’s do our part by standing up for climate action today. Please donate now.

P.P.S. Tomorrow night at 8:00pm EST, EPA Administrator Gina McCarthy will join EDF President Fred Krupp for a tele-town hall moderated by Environmental Defense Action Fund President Elizabeth Thompson. You may have received a phone call today with instructions for participating. If you didn’t and you’d like to attend, watch your inbox tomorrow morning for all the details.
