Fight Back Attacks on EPA Now!
| | | EDF member—
Moments ago, President Obama delivered a powerful vision for climate activism in his State of the Union address. With Congress bogged down in partisan gridlock, administration actions, mainly through the Environmental Protection Agency, are our best hope this year to push forward meaningful limits on America's climate pollution.
But climate deniers and the friends of the fossil fuel industry on Capitol Hill have already mobilized to stop EPA climate action in its tracks.
Will you donate now to our Climate Action Fund to help give us the resources we need to fight back and vigorously defend the EPA in support of the strongest possible climate standards?
We need to raise $100,000 over the next two weeks to organize against Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell’s efforts to pass his "Resolution of Disapproval" under the Congressional Review Act. This bill, if it were to pass, would cripple EPA's efforts to limit climate pollution from America's power plants—the biggest source of carbon emissions in the U.S.
We can't let this—or any other political assault from climate deniers—pass. We have to stand strong and we have to stand together.
Will you step up now to support our Climate Action Fund with a donation today?
We have already mobilized more than 100,000 activists in support of EPA's new standards for new fossil fuel power plants. But, the big fight will be over tough new standards for existing power plants, which we expect this June.
We need to go all-in on this fight—and we need you with us.
Please donate now to our Climate Action Fund.
Thank you for your activism and support,
 Sam Parry Director, Membership
P.S. President Obama said tonight, "And when our children's children look us in the eye and ask if we did all we could to leave them a safer, more stable world, with new sources of energy, I want us to be able to say yes, we did." Let’s do our part by standing up for climate action today. Please donate now.
P.P.S. Tomorrow night at 8:00pm EST, EPA Administrator Gina McCarthy will join EDF President Fred Krupp for a tele-town hall moderated by Environmental Defense Action Fund President Elizabeth Thompson. You may have received a phone call today with instructions for participating. If you didn’t and you’d like to attend, watch your inbox tomorrow morning for all the details. | |
