| Protect Wildlife | | Dear EDF member—
Today is World Animal Day! To celebrate, I’d like to offer you one of our limited edition plush animals, available exclusively to EDF members who pledge to help us protect threatened and endangered wildlife by making a small monthly donation of $5, $10, $15, $20, or $25.
EDF was founded in 1967 to protect wildlife—most notably the iconic North American birds of prey—from the harmful effects of the poison DDT. Thanks in large part to the efforts of EDF’s founders to win a national DDT ban, birds like the bald eagle, ospreys, and peregrine falcons were saved from the precipice of extinction.
Today, climate change poses one of the biggest threats to animals and ecosystems around the world. Species like polar bears and emperor penguins are in grave danger as their habitats literally melt away. And because we’re all connected, what threatens one species ultimately threatens us all.
We’ve heard from many of our loyal members that monthly giving is their preferred way to support EDF because it makes it easy to have a big impact with regular small gifts.
You can choose your own level of giving: For $5 a month, we’ll send you a cuddly pika. For $10 a month, you can choose a fluffy polar bear. Give $15 monthly, and we’ll send you an adorable ocelot. For a gift of $20 monthly, we’ll send you a handsome emperor penguin. And if you give $25 monthly, you can choose a majestic bald eagle.
As a monthly giver, you’ll be a member of an elite group of our most committed and valued supporters. For as long as you continue your gift, you’ll receive fewer donation solicitations, and we'll send you our quarterly newsletter distributed exclusively to monthly donors—the EcoPartner Update. We'll also occasionally send you exclusive invitations to join donor teleconference calls or give us feedback on new ideas we're considering here at EDF.
Please help us celebrate World Animal Day by making a monthly gift, and we'll rush you one of these cute plush animals to remind you of the amazing wildlife we’re working together to protect.
The animals and I thank you,
 Emily Stevenson Manager, Online Membership
P.S. For my part, I couldn’t resist taking that adorable ocelet home. Which plush animal will you choose? |
