Take Action: Stand Up For Safer Chemicals

In May of 2012, 200 moms, cancer survivors and nurses gathered in Washington, DC with one message: we need safer chemical standards.

They're baaaackkk! On October 29, they'll be heading to Washington again on the same mission. And you can back them up from the comfort of your own home!

Take Action: Tell your Senators it is time to protect our families from the dangers of toxic chemicals.

The truth is, America's toxic chemicals law—the Toxic Substances Control Act of 1976 (TSCA)—is woefully out of date. It hasn't been updated since it was passed 37 years ago, and it is dangerously ineffective.

In fact, it is so weak that when EPA attempted to use it to ban asbestos—a known carcinogen that still causes 10,000 American deaths every year—the courts found that EPA couldn’t meet the law’s absurdly high burden of proof.

TSCA is too weak to regulate even the worst chemicals. As a result, known dangers to human health are found in everyday products, in our homes, and even in the bloodstreams of newborn babies.

Our friends at Safer Chemicals, Health Families are bringing moms from all over the country to DC, to tell their Senators that they won't stand for this any longer. Will you help support their efforts?

Tell your Senators it's time for change. Ask them to improve and move the new Chemical Safety Improvement Act.
