The Shutdown's Eco-Consequences

Don't let the environment suffer the consequences of the shutdown. Climate Activist—

Fight back against the Shutdown's eco-consequences.

The government shutdown has many consequences for people of all walks of life—not least of which include serious environmental impacts.

Take Action: Tell Congress the shutdown cannot stand—ask them to get the government back to work.

More than 400 parks, wildlife refuges, historical battlefields and national forests are closed to any and all visitors—though many remain open to oil, gas, and mining operations.

While the dirty air lobby continues to work, the EPA—in Administrator McCarthy's own words—will "effectively shut down." Most EPA staffers are furloughed, giving the agency the ability to do little more than keep the lights on—while their clean air and clean water programs are undermined by the Congressional impasse.

Perhaps most importantly, the EPA's groundbreaking proposal to limit carbon pollution from new power plants—America's first-ever national limits on climate pollution—could face unknown delays.

This is unacceptable. Don't stand for the government shutdown. Please take action today.
