| You are the key to solving the climate crisis. Every bit of doubt I had about our ability to confront the climate crisis is gone. It's not because of how much America has already lowered CO2 emissions, or because of all the work EDF is doing. It's because of you—and our slideshow proves it.
I spent days pouring over the 634 climate confessions you sent in—and you are unbelievably inspiring.
I read letters from climate scientists about their refusal to stop fighting. Teachers and professors are educating the next generation, igniting their passion for our cause. Inventors are exploring new options to help America kick its fossil fuel addiction. And each of you take important steps in your everyday lives—from installing solar panels on your homes, to trading car rides for long walks—all in an effort to lower your own carbon footprint.
I know that in spite of all you do, you still feel helpless sometimes. I know you question whether or not your actions can stand up against such well-funded, well-organized opposition. And I’m here to tell you: We can win this, because of you. I have never been more certain of that fact.
And I want to share my renewed faith in grassroots efforts—and your ability to make a difference—with you.
