There’s less than a week left until Earth Day! That means we have just six more days to reach our $750,000 Annual Fund goal.
More than 3,000 donors have already contributed $556,670, putting us so close to our goal—and with more than 750,000 EDF activists in our corner, I know we can get there. Will you make a donation of $25 or more to give us the support we need to fight for a safer climate and a healthier world?
I don’t need to tell you how important our fight against global warming is. This is the challenge of our lives and EDF has made it our #1 priority.
I’m proud to work at EDF because we haven’t let partisan bickering and climate deniers in Washington stand in our way. We look beyond government to find communities and businesses who, like you and I, want to make a difference.
Monday’s slideshow showcased my personal favorite EDF program: the EDF Climate Corps. We’ve trained hundreds of top-tier graduate students in sustainable energy management and embedded them with major companies, organizations, and municipal governments—like Google, AT&T, and the City of Austin, to name a few.
Since 2008, EDF Climate Corps fellows have identified opportunities equivalent to: - Cutting the annual electricity use of 180,000 homes
- Avoiding the annual carbon emission of 260,000 cars
- Nearly $1.3 billion in energy cost reductions
And because our fellows have saved their host organizations an average of $1 million each, we’ve given America’s biggest businesses a good reason to clean up their energy use. Many of our fellows go on to work full-time in energy management, continuing to put their EDF training to work saving energy and cutting emissions.
